As a 20-something guy crocheter, I've found that a lot of pattern books are geared toward women, especially woman of an older generation. I've searched through books for something without flowers or baubles to no avail. But this book is great! The patters are wonderfully varied, and many of them are appropriate for any person or decor. I am a huge fan of the ripple and wave afghans, but this book has exceeded my expectations. In these 154 patterns, you're almost guaranteed to find the perfect pattern for a gift, charity project, or your own home-- and most likely have to choose from many!
